SmartVideo Signs
Distribution Agreement
With HarborLink
ATLANTA, Ga. –
(BUSINESS WIRE) – July
22, 2005 – SmartVideo
Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:
SMVD.OB) today announced
that it has signed a
distribution agreement
with HarborLink Network,
LLC, a leader in the
deployment of Wi-Fi hot
spots. This exciting new
development exposes
SmartVideo’s services to
a new mobile market in
over 150 hi-traffic
locations in 22 states
across the U.S.
HarborLink is expected
to grow its network
another 30% by the
fourth quarter 2005.
Fueled by a national
contract with Buffalo
Wild Wings Grill & Bar,
HarborLink has
quadrupled its number of
Wi-Fi hot spots since
January 2005.
HarborLink’s sites
combine the latest
technology with
convenient locations to
bring users easy, fast
access whether they’re
traveling for business,
staying connected during
a vacation or simply
looking for a break from
the office. HarborLink
has also developed
relationships with city
governments such as the
City of Dayton to
provide “Metro Zones”, a
city wide carrier class,
high-speed wireless
network. Other
municipalities and large
venues are in the final
stages of negotiations
and are expected to be
announced in the near
term.
“HarborLink Network is
excited to take Wi-Fi
hotspot and MetroZone
offerings to the next
plateau by extending our
service offerings to
include high quality,
premium broadcast
media. SmartVideo's
unprecedented library of
content, such as
national networks and
local affiliates, news,
weather, sports,
children's programming,
movies, music videos,
etc. fits nicely into
the direction we have
been steering our hot
spot model”, said Rick
Tangeman, president of
HarborLink Network,
LLC. “The partnership
between HarborLink
Network and SmartVideo
is significant in that
we are now providing
those familiar
television channels we
have all become
accustomed to having in
our homes, and
delivering them to an
ever growing number of
mobile clients and
devices,” he continued.
Commenting on this new
development, Richard E.
Bennett, Jr., president
and CEO of SmartVideo
stated, “HarborLink
Network is a great
partner for us to enter
the Wi-Fi market. With
all the talk of cellular
delivery, it’s easy to
lose focus on the wider
mobile market, including
both cellular and Wi-Fi.
This distribution
announcement represents
another milestone in our
strategy. We expect to
be making additional
distribution
announcements in coming
weeks and we also expect
these agreements to
generate initial revenue
in the third quarter and
significant revenue by
year’s end.
